Vermont Real Estate License Reciprocity

What is real estate license reciprocity?   One may obtain a real estate license by reciprocity or mutual recognition if the person has a current license in another state.  It basically means you would transfer your license without having to take some or all of the state’s pre-licensing requirements.  Requirements for an of-state-real estate license vary by state.

Does Vermont have real estate reciprocity with other states?

No.  Vermont does not have real estate reciprocity with any other state.   However, one who is currently licensed or in good standing in another state may apply for a license by “Endorsement”.  You would have to take the state exam (part of the license application) and complete and upload a VT State Jurisprudence exam answer sheet with your application.

If you have been actively licensed or in good standing in another state for 3 or more years, you may qualify for the “Fast Track Endorsement”.  You would not have to take the state exam.  You would only need to complete and upload the VT State Jurisprudence exam answer sheet with your application.  The exceptions are California, New York,  West Virginia, and Puerto Rico, which are not equivalent to Vermont, so you would also need to take the National exam that VT requires.

All applicants would still need the basic requirements such as out-of-state license history certification, fingerprinting, etc.
