Minnesota Real Estate License Reciprocity
How to transfer your real estate license from another state to Minnesota.
What is real estate license reciprocity? One may obtain a real estate license by reciprocity or mutual recognition if the person has a current license in another state. It basically means you would transfer your license without having to take some or all of the state’s pre-licensing requirements. Requirements for an of-state-real estate license vary by state.
Does Minnesota have real estate reciprocity with other states?
Yes, for certain states. Minnesota has full real estate reciprocity with Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Oklahoma. If you are licensed in these states, you can apply for your license without any aditional educational requirements. You would not have to take Minnesota licensing course or the national and state portions of the real estate exam. If licensed in Wisconsin, you have partial reciprocity and would need to also take the 13 hour Wisconsin to Minnesota Reciprocal Prelicense course.
