Michigan Real Estate License Reciprocity

How to transfer your real estate license from another state to Michigan .

What is real estate license reciprocity?   One may obtain a real estate license by reciprocity or mutual recognition if the person has a current license in another state.  It basically means you would transfer your license without having to take some or all of the state’s pre-licensing requirements.  Requirements for an of-state-real estate license vary by state.

Does Michigan have real estate reciprocity with other states?

No. Michigan does not offer reciprocity with any other state. An applicant for a Michigan Real Estate Salesperson or Broker license must meet education, experience and examination requirements in place as of the date the application is submitted.

How to obtain your Michigan real estate license:

You may take an approved Michigan pre-license course that covers the national and state portion of the real estate regulations.  Then you may take the official real estate exam.
