What is real estate license reciprocity? One may obtain a real estate license by reciprocity or mutual recognition if the person has a current license in another state. It basically means you would transfer your license without having to take some or all of the state’s pre-licensing requirements. Requirements for an of-state-real estate license vary by state.
Does Arizona have real estate reciprocity with other states?
No. However, Arizona has out-of-state real estate license recogntion which is similar. You must have been licensed for at least one year. You must complete a 6 hour Arizona contract writing couse. Applicants must prove legal residence in Arizona when filing the license application. But you may take the required course work and other requirements before becoming a resident and applying.
Requirements to get a real estate license by reciprocity in Arizona:
- You have a current real estate license in another state for at least one year.
- You took the required pre-license work and passed the real estate exam (national and state portions) in the other state.
- You provide a certificate of license history from equivelent state for at least one year.
- You complete an approved 6 hour contract writing course.
- You become an Arizona resident and provide proof of residency before applying for your real estate license.
