Pennsylvania Real Estate License Reciprocity
How to transfer your real estate license from another state to Pennsylvania.
What is real estate license reciprocity? One may obtain a real estate license by reciprocity or mutual recognition if the person has a current license in another state. It basically means you would transfer your license without having to take some or all of the state’s pre-licensing requirements. Requirements for an of-state-real estate license vary by state.
Does Pennsylvania have real estate reciprocity with other states?
Yes. Pennsylvania has real estate reciprocity agreements with Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, and Massachusetts. Your out-of-state license must be current and active. If qualified, you will not need to take the pre-license education or real estate exam.
If you have a license in another state that has no reciprocity, you may be able to obtain obtain a license by the standard out-of-state method. If you had an current, active license within the last 5 years would only need to take the state portion of the exam if licensed
