Connecticut Real Estate License Reciprocity
How to transfer your real estate license from another state to Connecticut .
What is real estate license reciprocity? One may obtain a real estate license by reciprocity or mutual recognition if the person has a current license in another state. It basically means you would transfer your license without having to take some or all of the state’s pre-licensing requirements. Requirements for an of-state-real estate license vary by state.
Does Connecticut have real estate reciprocity with other states?
Yes. Connecticut has real estate reciprocity with a specific number of states. Connecticut has “mutual recognition” (sometimes called reciprocity) with Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Rhode Island.
All applicants applying by reciprocity from the following states: Florida, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio or applicants who have not taken and passed a real estate licensing examination in a reciprocal state will be required to take the state portion of the Connecticut Real Estate Licensing Examination administered by PSI.
